Location

On-site in our new HQ in beautiful surroundings in Hellerup.

About the role

We're looking for an experienced Python Developer to support our Lead Developer and CTO with the ongoing development, maintenance, and improvement of our integration solutions.

Unlike traditional development positions centred around large, long-term projects, this role involves a continuous flow of smaller, well-defined tasks, typically ranging from one hour to five working days.

You will work with Python, APIs, databases, and integration technologies, but should also feel comfortable exploring technologies outside your primary area of expertise.

You will join a collaborative development team where tasks are coordinated and progress is discussed daily. We expect you to work independently, communicate clearly, and take a practical, solution-oriented approach to development.

What we're looking for

Business understanding

  • A strong understanding of B2B business processes, particularly the complete flow from purchase order through delivery to invoicing.
  • Experience working with business systems, commercial integrations, or digital document exchange.
  • The ability to understand not only how an integration works technically, but also why it matters to the underlying business process.

Technical competencies

  • Python programming, including the development of server-based API services using FastAPI, deployed in Docker containers and managed with uv.
  • API technologies, including interpreting API documentation and developing Python API clients.
  • SQL and NoSQL databases, including MySQL, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB.
  • Shell scripting, particularly Bash.
  • Docker and Docker Hub.
  • GitHub, pull requests, and GitHub Actions.
  • JSON and XML, particularly UBL (Universal Business Language).

We are ideally looking for someone with 10+ years of relevant professional experience, although demonstrated expertise and practical understanding are more important than years alone.

Knowledge of the following is a plus

  • JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and other web technologies.
  • Development or implementation of AI agents.
  • EDIFACT and other EDI standards.
  • XSLT for XML transformations.
  • Server orchestration and infrastructure technologies such as Nomad, Consul, and Fabio.
  • Integration and communication protocols, including SFTP, AS2, and related technologies.

What you'll be doing

  • Develop, maintain, and improve Python-based services, APIs, and integration solutions.
  • Support our Lead Developer and CTO in resolving smaller technical tasks and development challenges.
  • Develop and maintain integrations between business systems, external APIs, and data exchange platforms.
  • Review API documentation and implement Python clients for third-party services.
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and optimise existing applications and integrations.
  • Work with databases, Docker containers, and our existing development infrastructure.
  • Participate in daily task coordination, progress reporting, and technical discussions.
  • Take on unfamiliar technologies and technical challenges when necessary.

What we offer

  • Entrepreneurial environment in which your ideas are heard and your solutions are welcome
  • Small and collaborative team
  • Professional development
  • Stable and growing company with a team-based structure
  • Social gatherings a few times a year where international colleagues are invited

The ideal candidate

We're looking for someone who enjoys solving problems and can transition comfortably between different technical challenges.

You're likely to thrive in this position if you:

  • Are comfortable working on multiple smaller assignments rather than one large development project.
  • Can independently investigate problems, identify solutions, and implement them efficiently.
  • Aren't afraid to work with unfamiliar technologies or take on responsibilities outside your immediate specialisation.
  • Understand the importance of reliable integrations in business-critical processes.
  • Appreciate working in a small team with frequent communication, shared priorities, and clear expectations.
  • Prefer practical, maintainable solutions over unnecessary complexity.
