Greece is introducing mandatory electronic invoicing for B2B transactions in phases during 2026. The framework builds on the country's existing myDATA digital tax infrastructure and its established electronic invoicing requirements for public-sector transactions.

The first group of businesses became subject to mandatory B2B e-invoicing in March 2026, while the requirement will extend to the remaining businesses from October 2026.

Businesses with gross revenue exceeding €1 million, based on their income tax return for tax year 2023, have been subject to mandatory B2B e-invoicing since 2 March 2026.

The requirement extends to the remaining businesses from 1 October 2026. A transitional period allows eligible businesses to gradually fulfil the requirement until 31 December 2026, provided the applicable declaration requirements are met.

Businesses within scope must issue their invoices electronically using one of the permitted methods under the Greek framework. This can be done through a licensed Electronic Invoicing Provider or through AADE's free timologio or myDATAapp applications.

Invoice data is transmitted electronically to the myDATA platform, where transactions receive the required Unique Entry Number (MARK). A company's ERP alone does not constitute an accepted method of issuing invoices under the mandatory e-invoicing framework.

Greece's electronic invoicing infrastructure is centred around AADE's myDATA platform and licensed Electronic Invoicing Providers. Invoice data is transmitted electronically to myDATA and processed according to the technical requirements of the Greek tax administration.

Peppol also forms part of the infrastructure used for electronic invoicing in Greek public procurement. Electronic invoices to the Greek State issued through providers are transmitted electronically through the Peppol network and the Greek government's Interoperability Center.
