Most frequent questions

What's the difference between a PDF invoice and an e-invoice?

A PDF invoice is designed to be read by people, while an e-invoice is a structured digital document that can be processed automatically by accounting and ERP systems. This eliminates manual data entry, reduces errors, and enables faster invoice processing.

Is an e-invoice the same as a PDF sent by email?

No. Although both contain invoice information, a PDF is simply a digital document. A true e-invoice contains structured data in a standardised format that allows systems to exchange and process the information automatically.

What are the benefits of e-invoicing?

E-invoicing helps businesses reduce manual work, improve data accuracy, accelerate invoice processing, and lower administrative costs. It also supports compliance with electronic invoicing requirements that are being introduced in many countries.

Will my business need to use e-invoicing?

That depends on where you operate and who your customers are. Many governments are introducing mandatory e-invoicing requirements, particularly for public sector transactions and, increasingly, for business-to-business (B2B) invoicing. Preparing early can help your business stay compliant and avoid future disruption.

Do I need to replace my ERP system?

No. Most e-invoicing solutions integrate with your existing ERP or accounting system, allowing you to automate invoice exchange without replacing your current software.

Is Peppol required for e-invoicing?

Not always. Peppol is one of several networks used to exchange electronic invoices. Whether you need Peppol depends on the requirements of your customers, suppliers, and the countries in which you operate.
